1. Who We Are

TPT Solutions Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates TPT Backup at backup.tptsolutions.co.nz. We are based in New Zealand and are bound by the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 (“Privacy Act”) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), UK GDPR, and other applicable privacy laws.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use TPT Backup, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

• Account details: name, email address, and password required to create a TPT Backup account.
• Files, photos, and emails you choose to back up. These are stored encrypted and are not accessed by our staff except where required to provide support or comply with legal obligations.
• Email account credentials (IMAP username and password) if you connect an inbox for email backup. These are stored encrypted and used solely to sync your emails.
• Communications: emails or messages you send to our support team.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: storage quota used, file upload and download events, sync timestamps.
• Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps.
• Cookies: session cookies required for authentication. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, operate, and improve TPT Backup.
• To store, sync, and make available the files, photos, and emails you choose to back up.
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, storage limit warnings).
• To enforce storage quotas and usage limits.
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access.
• To respond to support requests.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or your backed-up content to third parties.

4. How We Share Your Information

• Service providers: Trusted third-party vendors including Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), and object storage providers. These providers process data only on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
• Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or government authority, we may disclose information to comply with our legal obligations.
• Business transfers: If TPT Solutions Ltd is acquired or its assets transferred, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you in advance.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your files and backed-up content are stored on servers located in Australia and/or the United States, operated by our hosting providers. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, and access controls.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you suspect any unauthorised access to your account, please notify us at support@tptsolutions.co.nz immediately.

6. Data Retention

We retain your backed-up files and account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete files within the app they are moved to trash and permanently deleted after 48 hours. If you close your account, we delete your account data and backed-up content within 30 days. We may retain certain records longer where required by law.

7. Your Rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and other applicable laws, you have the right to:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention requirements).
• Object to or restrict our processing of your information in certain circumstances.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
• Export your backed-up content at any time from within the app.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@tptsolutions.co.nz. We will respond within 20 working days as required by the Privacy Act.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered account holders by email before material changes take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the current version.

If you have concerns about how we handle your personal information, please contact us first at support@tptsolutions.co.nz. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (New Zealand) or the relevant data protection authority in your country.
